S.I.A.P. S.p.A. was founded in 1964 by two Venetian, who, since the 30’s, had been in business of factory and heating coals as importers and resellers throughout Italy.
The newly established company had an industrial focus, particularly the manufacturing of anthracite agglomerates.
While the head office was, and still is, in Venice, the plant was built (in same 1964) in a large country plot, chosen for its position along the Adriatic main road between harbour and motorway, in Ancona (Central Italy).
Since the 70’s industry has become even more the main market; new products have been developed to fulfil the needs of steel, cement and tiles factories.
The storeyards have been widened to offer warehouse service on behalf of importers and customers.
Since the 80’s the company operates as authorized Port Enterprise in Ancona.
Since the 90’s the layout of plant and storeyards has been changed to increase productivity and clear space for a new real estate activity, which led to the construction of 3 new sheds.
Area used for manufacturing and storage of coals is now about 4 ha, on a total industrial area of about 9 ha.
Since 2012 S.I.A.P. produces photovoltaic power too, as it installed on its sheds 855 kWp, partially for self-consumption.
